About Us
Oh She Goes provides news, advice, events, and inspiration for solo female travelers.
That sentence has stood at the top of this site since it began, and it still describes what the magazine does. Oh She Goes publishes destination guides, first-timer briefings and travel notes for women who are travelling on their own, in a form that is meant to be read before a trip and used during one.
The editorial approach is deliberately narrow. Guides are organised around a single destination and a single question: what does a first visitor actually need to know here? That produces long, numbered pieces rather than short lists, because the useful information is usually the specific kind. A guide to Thailand is worth reading because it explains how the two coasts have opposite weather, not because it says the beaches are lovely.
The destination sections cover France, Italy, Thailand, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, Mexico, Hawaii and the United States. The deepest coverage sits in Thailand and in Europe, and the Asia section extends beyond Thailand to Hong Kong. Running across all of them is the Solo Travel Tips strand, which carries the advice that is not tied to one country.
Everything published here is written for the magazine. There are no sponsored placements in the guides, no ratings and no rankings of businesses. Where a guide mentions a place, it is a public one: a square, a park, a temple, a station, a stretch of coast.
